Mixed Use Centers: Visualization – Wasatch Front Regional Council, Utah

Overview

As project manager and lead urban designer, Chase oversaw the development of a series of prototypical centers representing a range of urban scales—from small-town nodes to large metropolitan hubs. These prototypes were created to bring the WRFC Choice Vision Plan to life by illustrating how proposed land uses could translate into vibrant, walkable, and context-sensitive places across the region.

The primary goal was to support the region’s long-term planning objectives by making abstract land use concepts more concrete and relatable. Through the use of detailed 3D models, Chase helped visualize how future centers could function spatially and socially—bridging the gap between policy and on-the-ground implementation.

By creating visually compelling and technically grounded scenarios, the project fostered greater stakeholder understanding and alignment, offering a powerful tool for public engagement, consensus-building, and informed decision-making.
