Overview

As part of the Morgan City Downtown Trails and Parks Planning effort, Chase collaborated with Jake Young of City Design to develop a series of detailed graphics and visualizations illustrating how proposed streetscape improvements, plaza design, and infill development could reshape the Commercial Street corridor (Morgan City’s historic main street). These visuals played a critical role in helping both residents and decision-makers clearly understand the potential impacts of the development scenario, ranging from a walkable downtown with mixed-use infill to a reimagined, more pedestrian-friendly streetscape. During virtual design charrettes and open house events, community members engaged directly with these concepts, offering real-time feedback that helped shape a shared vision for the area. The clarity and accessibility of the graphics empowered participants to contribute meaningfully, building consensus and generating momentum for reinvestment in downtown Morgan City.
