Overview

As part of the Envision Carson City Master Plan, Chase led the visual communication strategy to help the community reimagine Carson Street, the city’s historic main street, in the wake of a new freeway bypass. Recognizing the opportunity to reclaim the corridor for local vitality, the team hosted an open house design charrette, inviting citizens to help shape the future of their downtown.

Through hands-on design sessions and real-time visualizations, Chase translated community input into 3D graphics and streetscape concepts that brought ideas to life—making abstract planning concepts tangible and actionable. The visual tools allowed residents, business owners, and city leaders to better understand trade-offs and opportunities, building trust and alignment early in the process.

These graphics not only deepened public engagement, but also served as a catalyst for reinvestment—setting a clear, compelling direction for downtown improvements and helping spark renewed interest from developers and local businesses. Chase’s work helped ensure the future of Carson Street would be shaped by the people who know it best, laying the groundwork for a vibrant, walkable, and economically resilient downtown.
